Batch Plant Shift Lead

ICON is looking for a Batch Plant Shift Lead to be a part of a growing team to produce CarbonX, a proprietary mortar for construction 3D printing. Primary responsibilities will be to run daily plant operations, lead a team of operators in material production, and manage raw materials to support efficiency in production ops. This role is based at ICON’s Austin, TX location, and will report to the Plant Manager on ICON’s Material Operations team.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Operate and maintain production equipment
  • Competently use, adjust, and troubleshoot Midas software
  • Troubleshoot mechanical problems and perform minor servicing and maintenance of equipment; refer major problems to the plant manager
  • Manage all production, quality, safety, and maintenance functions of a single facility, multi-shift operation
  • Manage operators effectively to ensure production goals are met daily
  • Manipulate raw materials and sort inventory
  • Clean facility, grounds, and/or silos
  • Operate forklift and other heavy machinery

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5+ years experience working with construction materials (examples: dry mortar production, aggregate production, cement production, batch plants, etc.)
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs
  • Forklift experience

 

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • OSHA 10 Certified
  • Technical degree or experience working in a concrete lab
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Suite
  • A thorough understanding of the concrete manufacturing process is required
  • Must require minimal supervision
